Creating templates with old versions

By default, when we release new versions of our standard agreements any new templates created use them. In some cases, Common Paper users may wish to create new templates using previous versions, and we've added support within the app to handle these scenarios. Additionally, we've added more information about the versions, including list of changes for each. Read more

Viewing/Restoring Archived Templates

Now available in the Common Paper app is access to archived templates, along with the ability to view and restore those templates at a later time. There's a link to these templates on the Templates page below the existing list of templates. Read more

Sender/Signer Reminders

We've expanded our email reminders to include sending reminders for agreements waiting for review or signature to Common Paper senders or signers. Previously, only recipients were prompted to take action on agreements, but now internal users will also receive email prompts to keep the signature process flowing. This feature leverages the existing notifications settings, and requires no additional configuration. Read more

Improved Template Selection

We've released a new version of our template picker that makes it easier to find the agreement that best matches a use case. The updated feature offers a keyword search that includes related terms for each agreement as well as some pre-built categories. It's available during onboarding or on the Templates page in an account. Read more

Billing Notification Email

We've added a small feature that allows Common Paper users to provide a billing notification email address to their automated billing configuration. This email address will get copied on any automated billing related email that is sent from Common Paper, and helps give insight to a finance or billing team into what's being sent to recipients to help collect payment. Automated Billing Info Reminders

For Common Paper users leveraging our automated billing feature, we've released billing reminder emails that prompt recipients to provide their billing contact information after they've signed their agreement. This helps ensure that we have the information needed to create new subscriptions and invoices in Stripe, and helps our users get paid quickly. Read more

Letter of Intent

We've just released the Letter of Intent as a template available within Common Paper. If you have interested prospects but it will be a while before you can get a sales contract signed, a Letter of Intent can help bridge the gap and provide validation you can share with potential investors or other third parties. It’s non-binding, informal, and designed to make it easy for potential customers to say yes before committing to a sales contract or a design partnership. Transferring between Common Paper Organizations

On occasion, two members from the same organization sign up for their own Common Paper accounts, and then decide to consolidate to a single account. This new feature allows a user to invite another user that belongs to a different Common Paper organization. The invited user will then have the option to either decline or join the organization they've been invited to, optionally bringing along their templates and agreements. Read more

Automated Billing Statuses

Common Paper users leveraging our Automated Billing features (powered by Stripe) now have more insight into the status of the subscription creation and payment collection process. Billing statuses appear alongside the negotiation and signature statuses on the agreements list page, and new filters have been added to allow users to drill down to agreements in a specific billing state. Automated Billing Enhancements

Support for Canadian Dollar

We've released a small update that adds support for the Canadian Dollar for Cloud Service Fees in the Cloud Service Agreement. This currency can also be used with our automated billing feature. Read more

Common Paper Status Page

To help our customers monitor the status of the Common Paper website, application and API, we've created a status page that is updated whenever there is downtime on any of our services. Customers can also subscribe to the page (via email, Slack, and a variety of other methods) to be alerted to new issues. The status page is available at https://status.commonpaper.com. Read more

Bill with Stripe Integration

We're excited to release a new feature that allows users to integrate their Stripe accounts with Common Paper. Once connected, Cloud Service Agreements can be configured to create recurring subscriptions in Stripe based on the parameters of the contract, and present a checkout screen to recipients immediately after signing. This new integration will help reduce the time it takes for Common Paper customers to receive payment from their customers and get their subscriptions in place. Read more

Upsell / Renew Uploaded Signed Agreements

For Common Paper users on paid plans, we've added the ability to send a renewal or upsell order form from an agreement that was uploaded to an account. For instance, if you've signed a Common Paper CSA outside of Common Paper, are ready to renew that customer and want to do it through the platform, simply upload the original signed agreement and then you'll have the option to send a new order form. Support for Signing Uploaded Documents

We're excited to release a new feature that allows Common Paper users to sign uploaded documents! Now users can start a Common Paper agreement, download it as Word doc or PDF and negotiate outside the system (if need be), then upload it back into Common Paper and send it through a signing workflow. Embedded Language Library

We've released an exciting feature that brings our ever growing Language Library of agreement modifications right into the template and agreement creation process. Common Paper users can now click to easily add these clauses as part of the Other Changes section of each agreement, as well as link out to the library for more details about each addition. Read more
